Aotea College is looking for a new Finance Officer. The position is currently 30 hours per week, term time only from the middle of January. There is the possibility of some additional work during the school holiday breaks to maintain our bank accounts and financial systems.
You will assist the Finance and Administration Manager to ensure the accuracy and timely maintenance of the colleges’ Xero accounting system. You will also be responsible for updating our student management systems for all charges and receipt of funds, and ensuring that our IRD returns are prepared, checked and filed on time.
The ideal candidate will be
· experienced and confident working with accounting systems, preferably Xero
· organised with an eye for detail
· an excellent communicator
· able to deal with a variety of people
· able to think outside the box
· a problem solver
· confident in maintaining, reviewing and developing procedures
· able to work both independently and as part of a team
If you are familiar with working in a school environment and with the KAMAR student system that would be ideal, but it is not essential as training will be provided.
As Aotea College is undergoing a major redevelopment we are reviewing the way we operate, so there is the potential for additional hours in the future if you have the skills and experience we need.
