From The Principals Pen - September 2017
Sep 29, 2017

It was great to see a good turnout of families and students at course selection interviews. A lot of thinking is going into good planning for learning pathways. Especially for Year 13 students working towards course completion, final examinations and securing places at University and Polytechnic institutions for 2018 it is almost as if time speeds up.

The recent successes of barbershop groups and their return to straight away get stuck into assignments and preparation for a short term four shows how these young people have resilience and grit. They have an impressive set of skills that will hold them in good stead for navigating their futures.

It is important to understand how pressure can lead to stress and how stress needs to be managed when there is a lot on. Using the term break to recharge is important for everyone; to take care of the basics of unwinding and giving the brain and body some rest. Balancing rest with exercise for both brain and body helps the recharging process as does enjoying the connections with family, friends and community.

All the best for a healthy and happy term break.

Warm regards
