The position is 20 hours per week and fixed term to 21 December 2018, with the possibility of an extension. You will assist us to provide safe and inviting facilities and grounds for our students and staff. As a member of the property team you will be required to be part of the on-call roster responding to security and emergency issues when they arise.
Flexibility is key in this role and we are happy to coordinate your working hours to suit both yourself and the college.
As Aotea College is undergoing major redevelopment the successful candidate will require initiative and the ability to self manage. You will be part of this exciting time as we prepare to move into our new school.
Your experience, can do attitude and work ethic will be key in this role, along with being physically fit and an excellent communicator with a sense of humour.
This position requires a number of core competencies and skills including :Grounds maintenance,Ride on and push mowing, Gardening and landscaping, Weed eating and scrub cutting, Facilities upkeep and maintenance (Handyman skills) Ability to work unsupervised, A commitment to safe work practices, A clean drivers licence.
To be successful in this role you will need to undergo a police and safety check as required under the Vulnerable Children's Act
